ST. LOUIS (Sep 21st, 2023) – To bring their season record to 11-2, Lindbergh JV Softball had a convincing win over Parkway North. The game ended 19-2 with Brianna Bommarito pitching all 7 innings against the Vikings.
In addition to her pitching, Bommarito made an impact off the mound.
“Bri also hit a bomb very deep into right field,” Sophomore Sydney Murphy said.
The win was due to the team’s success in the batter’s box.
“The key has been waiting and picking that perfect pitch,” Murphy said.
The Flyers have won all of the last 3 match-ups in JV Softball against the Vikings of Parkway North. The Flyers won one of these last 3 games at home and 2 of them at Parkway North, with all of them being double-digit victories. They have also averaged over 18 runs in each of the 3 games with 56 total runs combined.
Bommarito wasn’t the only one who had success hitting the ball. Freshman Elizabeth Johnson and Sophomore Peyton Fleck both had doubles that pushed the Flyers to victores.
“Olivia Martin also had a huge triple for the team,” Peyton Fleck said about her Freshman teammate.
Lindbergh now has a 13-2 record with their most recent wins over Lafayette and Webster Groves. The next time the Flyers are in action is tonight (9/28) at 4:15 at Northwest, followed by a game at Cor Jesu at 5:45 on Friday (9/29). The team is confident that they can continue their dominance throughout the rest of the season.
